During the 1950's the first chart sales were listed - Al Martino being the first No 1 - but in the charts during the 50's we had Mario Lanza, Jo Stafford, Frankie Laine, David Whitfield, Kay Starr, Ray Anthony, Percy Faith, Frank Chacksfield, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Johnny Ray, Guy Mitchell, Slim Whitman, Tony Bennett, Eddy Fisher, Mantovani and many more.

Then, of course, during the 1950's we had Elvis Presley, Bill Hayley, Little Richard, etc. but that is a different story.
